It has been beautifully crafted into a storage jar using the process of sheet metal fabrication. Sheet metal fabrication is the process of turning flat sheets of metal into products by cutting, punching, folding, and assembling using hand-held tools. Once all the components are formed, they are then assembled and welded into position. Although, the advent of industrialization has brought about new mechanized techniques, artisans from North India prefer to stick to the basics, working with rudimentary, hand-held tools like sharp chisels, hammers, cutters and simple lathes to showcase their superior craftsmanship that is hard to replicate!
