White Galvanized Iron Ribbed Cylindrical Box with Wooden Lid

Recognising endless effort of the rural artisans from North India, Q Bazaar brings this white cylindrical box, crafted from a galvanized iron sheets along with an air-tight wooden lid. It has been beautifully crafted into a storage jar using the process of sheet metal fabrication. Sheet metal fabrication is the process of turning flat sheets of steel or aluminium into metal structures or products by cutting, punching, folding, and assembling using hand-held tools. Sheet metal can be cut, bent, or stretched into nearly any shape, which is generally done by cutting and burning the metal. The sheet metal fabrication process is concluded with welding. Once all the components are formed, they are then assembled and welded into position. Although, the advent of industrialization has brought about new mechanized techniques, artisans from North India prefer to stick to the basics, working with rudimentary, hand-held tools like sharp chisels, hammers, cutters and simple lathes to showcase their superior craftsmanship that is hard to replicate!
